Here you will find biblical wisdom, valuable resources, and counselor stories to compliment your training. We hope you’ll use this medium as a supplemental pathway to encourage you as you learn and walk alongside others.

First, we want to offer you the who, what, where, when, and why of Made to Minister and biblical counseling.

Who:
Every Christian.

All believers counsel, the question is: do we counsel biblically? Do we counsel so that we can make each other feel better but never get better? OR do we counsel using God’s word to point each other to Christ?

Paul instructs us to  “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16)

What:
Biblical truth applied to your life.

Biblical counseling is a form of intense discipleship. It is a counselor and counselee walking together, with the help of God’s Word, through specific seasons of life, suffering, or confusion. It is counsel rooted in wisdom, honoring God, exalting Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. It is imperative that it be fueled by love.

Where & When:
Anywhere, anytime, as God sees fit.

Counseling might take place in the counseling room, the restaurant, the classroom, or at the bus stop. We cannot limit counseling to a certain setting. It happens wherever we find ourselves needing to address a hurt or encourage a heart.

Why:
To glorify God and make much of Him as we answer our call to help the hurting and obey the Great
Commission:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

At Made to Minister we have seen the Spirit of God use biblical counsel to bring people to Christ, know Him better, and learn how to make disciples for Him. It’s all part of caring and inspiring growth in the community of Christ. We want people to know Jesus because He is the redeemer and ultimate healer. We make it our goal to keep this in mind when we walk into a church or, a conference, or meet the people God places in our paths. Thinking of how God will someday bring all his people together in a perfect community, brings passion to our prayers and kindness to our words, both for those who know Jesus and those that need to be invited in. We engage the broken because there is hope even when life is heavy and pain is real. God’s truth reminds us to look up to Him instead of remaining focused on our circumstances, He can change any circumstance, offer wisdom to any problem, and heal any heart. We have all been adopted into this broken, yet redeemed community.
